Lucien Dale Kettle Sr., 75, of San Leon, TX, passed away on March 28, 2025.
He was born in Kosciusko, Mississippi in 1949 to Lester P. Kettle and Bessie Lucille Kettle. Lucien moved to Texas at the age of 3, where he graduated from Texas City High School in 1967. Lucien went on to become a radio disc jockey at KILE in Galveston, where he gained the nickname Sunny. In 1971, he met his first wife, Patricia, with whom he had four children: Kristina, James, Lucien Jr., and Megan. He later met his wife Mary, with whom he shares a daughter, Roxanna, and a stepdaughter, Rebecca.
Lucien enjoyed sharing his immense love and knowledge of music with his family and friends by playing his guitar and singing his favorite songs at every gathering. He loved days at the beach, Elvis week in Memphis, Schlitz beer, and trips to the casino. But he mostly loved spending his time with his wife Mary, his six children, seven grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
Lucien was preceded in death by his father Lester, mother Lucille, brother Donald, sister Cathy, son James, and ex-wife Patricia. Lucien is survived by his wife Mary, children Kristina, Lucien Jr., Megan, Roxanna, Rebecca, and Penny, grandchildren Katie, Chris, Micah, Mary, Melissa, Carmela, and Carly, and great-grandchild Marigold.
