Marvin Phil Jenkins, 95, of Chickamauga went home to be with the Lord on Monday, January 6, 2025 at his home. He was born on November 22, 1929 in Taylor, South Carolina, a son of the late Leslie and Idell Phillips Jenkins. Phil had lived in Walker County, GA for many years before moving to Miami, then Missouri, then Virginia before moving back to North Georgia in 2000. Mr. Jenkins was an active member at Oakwood Baptist Church and was a member of AFS Local. He loved his church family, was an avid Georgia Bulldogs fans and enjoyed travelling in his earlier years.
He was preceded in death by his son, Michael Jenkins and daughter, Phyllis Breazeale.
Survivors include his daughter, Leslie Cagle; step-son, Danny Jenkins; sister, Grace Canada; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to his caregiver Jo Sitton.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, January 16th in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Frank Kelley officiating.
The family will receive friends 12-2 PM Thursday, January 16th at Heritage Funeral Home & Crematory, Battlefield Parkway.
