Maegan Acklen Obituary

Maegan Rae Acklen, age 32 of Winchester, passed away on Monday, March 10, 2025, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville. A native of Franklin County, she was born on January 4, 1993, in Winchester to loving parents, Tony Ray and Vicki (Starnes) Acklen. Maegan had a passion for helping people. This was evident as she continually went above and beyond working as a social worker for the State of Tennessee. She loved spending time with her niece Saylor and her dog Cooper, watching Friends on television, and attending concerts. Maegan was preceded in death by her grandparents, Bill and Helen Acklen; great-grandmother, Avis Homes; grandfather, Albert Starnes; and uncle, Lynn Acklen. In addition to her parents, she is survived by her sister, Kara (Richard) Axt; niece, Saylor Axt; grandparents, Billie Jo and Ray Damron; aunt, Cathy (Raymond) Miller; great-aunt, Doris Prince; several loving cousins; and her loving dog, Cooper. A memorial gathering will be held from 5-8 pm on Saturday, March 15, 2025, at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Isaiah House 117.
