Margaret Baker Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Maryland Cremation Services on Oct. 29, 2024.
It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Margaret Catherine Baker (Margaret), a devoted wife, mother, sister and friend, who left us on October 17,2024. She was 72 years old.
Margaret, Cathy to her family, was an amazing woman to both her family and friends.
Cathy lived in and around Riverdale, MD her entire life.
In her professional life, Cathy held numerous interests and positions. However, nothing approached her fond memories more than the years she spent in her service to the Prince George's County School Crossing Guard Program and the County's Public School Cafeteria Program. She truly loved her job and was dedicated to her students and schools. Before her retirement, Cathy worked through the Pandemic to ensure the needy children and families had food. She helped prepare food and worked with the Police department to distribute to the families.
Cathy had many interests. She loved to read, cook and garden. She had a true green thumb and loved working in her yard, planting beautiful flowers and plants in her flower beds.
Cathy truly loved animals and often took in strays to care for, comfort and provide a loving and nurturing home. She had her cat Bootsie, her dog Louie and her turtles and fish.
Cathy is survived by her husband Robert "Bob" Baker, her son Raymundo "Mundo" Malcolm, her brother Thomas C. Huggins, sister Betty Blaschak, brother Jeffrey Huggins, sister Mary Marcus and many nieces and nephews.
Cathy was predeceased by her parents James P. Huggins and Alice M. Jack along with brother James A. Huggins, sister Donna M. Haynes and nephew Thomas E. Huggins.
Arrangements are pending.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the American Cancer Society in her honor.
