A memorial service honoring the life of Margaret Hebert Mouton will be held at First United Methodist Church (213 N State St. Abbeville, La) on October 5, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. Rev. Cynthia Luquette will officiate. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at First United Methodist Church, on Saturday, October 5, 2024, from 10:00 AM until time of services.
Margaret (also known as Geetsie) who just celebrated her 80th birthday on the 16th of September passed away suddenly at her home in Cow Island.
After owning a country store for several years, she devoted the majority of her time to her church. She served as secretary on the church board, a liaison for the community, chairperson for the biannual yard sale, cornerstone of drive by prayer, and worked with Hope Chest.
Margaret truly loved helping others and spending time with her family and friends. She is survived by her brother, Richard Hebert (Dixie); her children, Richard Mouton Jr. (James), Chloe Modica (Joe), Clay Mouton (Melinda); her grandchildren, Justin, Jared, Blake, Tyler, Haylie, Kelli, Reese; and her great grandchildren Hayes, Bayler, Aiden, Vivian, and Miller. Also many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents, Carl Anthony Hebert Sr. and Juanita Baudoin Hebert, and her brother Carl Anthony Hebert Jr.
