Peggy A. James, 74, of Hibbing, MN, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, September 20, 2024. She was born in Duluth, MN, on July 8, 1950. She grew up in Coleraine and graduated from Greenway High School with the class of 1968. She worked and lived in different places across the Iron Range and eventually settled in Hibbing with her husband Dennis James. They were happily married for almost 30 years. In her younger years, Peggy was a bit of a talented seamstress as she made clothes, dresses and Halloween costumes for her girls. She also enjoyed golfing and bowling in her local league. Peggy was always busy from one thing to the next whether she and Dennis were going on trips, spending time in the camper or checking out local car shows. She liked listening to music as her radio was always on (needing to be turned down).
Peggy loved her cat Belle and especially her big combined family.
Peggy is survived by her children Shelly (Bob) Ruuhela, Lori (Jeff) Williams, Teresa (Damian) Hoey, Chris (Cristina) James, Tony (Mena) James, grandchildren Joshua, Jessica, Tom, Fayth, Jeremiah, Michael, Jude, Bella, Mosby, Mazie and Myles, six great grandchildren, sister in law Heather Fremont, other extended family and her caregiver and friend Tami.
She is preceded in death by her Husband Dennis, grandson Jeffrey Hoshal, parents Stan and Peg Fremont, and brother Pat Fremont.
A memorial service will be held at 12:00 PM on Friday, September 27, 2024, at the Dougherty Funeral Home in Hibbing. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service starting at 11:00 AM. Deacon Richard Johnston will officiate the service. Luncheon celebration will take place following the service in Dougherty's reception room.
