Marianne Clark Obituary

Published by Legacy on Nov. 2, 2024.
Marianne Clark (Swift) of Kingston passed away on October 31st, 2024, peacefully in her home after a valiant battle with cancer. She was 63 years old.
Born in Norwood on May 1, 1961, she was the youngest daughter of Paul W. and Anne T. (Moran) Swift. She was raised in Walpole and graduated from Walpole High School in 1979. She went on to receive her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Salve Regina University.
After college, she began her life-long career as a nurse. She devoted her career to long-term care facilities, working as a Director of Nursing, and most recently specializing in Alzheimer's and dementia care. Caring for others was Marianne's purpose in life, which brought her a lot of fulfillment.
When she wasn't taking care of patients or family members, Marianne loved spending time near the ocean and especially on Martha's Vineyard. Nothing brought her more joy than being with her beloved children and grandchildren.
Marianne always put the needs of others before her own. She was dedicated, caring, and was always a positive light for others when they needed it most. She often referred to her cancer diagnosis as a journey, facing such adversity with the utmost strength and dignity a person could exude. She will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Marianne is predeceased by her father, Paul W. Swift, and her brother, Paul W. Swift.
She is survived by her loving mother, Anne T. Swift of North Attleboro. Devoted mother of Andrew Clark and his wife Breanna of Pennsylvania, Kerry Salvi and her husband Chris of Marshfield. Beloved 'Mimi' of her grandsons, Jackson and Thomas Salvi of Marshfield, and newborn granddaughter, Mackenzie Clark of Pennsylvania. Cherished sister of Patricia Swift-Fulton of Cumberland, RI, and Pamela Wagner and her husband Phil of Maryland. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
All services for Marianne will be private at the request of her family. A special thank you to Marianne's cancer care team – Dr. Rosenstock, Diane, Nikki, Melanie, and many more who treated Marianne as if she was family.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Marianne's memory may be sent to The Friends of the Mass General Cancer Center.
