MARIE J. RUETH, age 71, of Colby, WI, formerly of Loyal, WI, passed away on Monday, October 14, 2024 at Colonial Health & Rehab in Colby, WI. Per Marie's request, there will be no services held.
Marie Jeanette Klemme was born on August 12, 1953 in Antigo, WI. She was the daughter of special parents, Ardell G. and Jeanette D. (Weigel) Klemme of Stratford, and born to Clarence and Margaret (Klomerus) Drexler of Antigo. Marie was raised and received her education in Stratford, graduating from Stratford High School in 1971. She then attended North Central Technical Institute in Wausau, WI. Marie worked at Land O' Lakes in Spencer, WI where she met her future husband, Robert C. Rueth, and they were united in marriage on October 5, 1974. They lived in Loyal where they raised their son, Kevin.
She had many interests, but especially enjoyed collecting plates, word search puzzles, reading, and watching TV. Marie loved taking in stray cats, Squeaker being her last.
Marie is survived by her son, Kevin, of Loyal; three siblings: Steve (Leslie) Klemme of Anoka, MN, Lori (Mel) Oelrich of Rhinelander, WI, Richard (Lorraine) Drexler of Lake Barrington, IL; in-laws; numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob, on April 20, 2017; her biological parents and her adopted parents; her father and mother-in-law, Ed and Florence Rueth; her siblings: Tom Klemme, Darwin Drexler, Alice Drexler, Clarence Drexler, Jr., Robert Drexler, and Charlene Drexler; and her goddaughters: Nicole and Lu Ann Klemme.
Marie's family would like to thank The Waterford of Colby for their compassion and care given to her these last several years.
