Marion Stacey Obituary

Marion Douglas Stacey (Doug), 79, died on Friday, July 15, 2022, at his home in Burlington, NC, after a 6-month battle with lung cancer. Doug was born in Fredericksburg, Virginia on March 29, 1943, to John Paul Stacey and O'Lena Butler Frazier Stacey.
He was educated in the Burlington public schools and a proud veteran of the US Navy, where he served on the USS Forrestal in the Gulf of Tonken. After his Honorable Discharge from the Navy, Doug became an instructor at GTCC and worked at AMP Tool and Die, where he spent three years in Taiwan using his engineering experience as a tool and die instructor. Once retired, Doug enjoyed hobbies that included following NASCAR, fishing, camping with family and friends, and tinkering with anything mechanical.
Doug is predeceased by his parents, as well as his brothers Joseph David Stacy and John Paul Stacey, Jr.
He is survived by his life partner of 20 years, Carol H Baker, and his sisters, Brenda Lutterbein (Mark) and Cindy Honegger of Ohio.
A celebration of life will be determined at a later date.
