Marlene Simmons Babson, 76, of Ash, NC died Friday, October 10, 2025.

Marlene was born in Columbus County, NC on February 5, 1949, and was the daughter of the late Raleigh Levi Simmons and Lena Mae Long Simmons. In addition to her parents, she preceded in death by her husband Eddie Roy Babson.

She is survived by her sons Michael Babson (Rosanna), and Heath Babson; daughter Melissa Griffin (Jack); sister Christine Issaula; grandchildren Travis, Jena, Joseph, Faith, MacKenzie and Christopher; great grandchildren Maggie, Aubree, Braxton, Trey, Claire and Greyson.

At her request services will be private.

She was the sweetest lady. I had the pleasure of taking care of her when she was in the hospital numerous times. She was a warrior. She fought so hard. She was always gracious and kind. I grew to love her to pieces! She always called me babydoll. When in fact she was the babydoll. I know she´s in Jesus´s loving arms. Rest easy sweet lady.

Michael, Heath, and Melissa, I am so sorry to hear of your mother's passing. She was a kind, wonderful lady. I was blessed to have known her, and to have taught her children. You are all in my prayers.
