Marlene McClelland Obituary

Marlene A. McClelland, "Molly", age 92, died on October 27, 2024 at Brightview Senior Living in East Norriton, PA. She was born in Portage, PA on September 16, 1932 to the late John Alexander McClelland and Edna Grace (Hogan) McClelland.
She was a graduate of Portage Joint High School class of 1950, Germantown Hospital School of Nursing in Philadelphia with a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, and Penn State University with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Molly worked at Germantown Hospital Medical Center in Philadelphia and later worked at Cresson and Altoona Nursing and Rehab. Center where she was Director of Nursing for 30 years until her retirement.
She was a member of the SPCA Humane Society, PA American Nurses Association, Past President of PARSE Somerset Chapter, Portage Summerfest Committee, and Trinity United Methodist Church.
Molly is survived by her nieces Karen L. Desimone (David), Marla J. Vivino (the late Anthony E.), Melissa M. Simpson, 3 great nieces Kalie Marie Desimone and fiancé Christopher Smith, Brielle N. Huntebrinker and husband Michael, Selena L. Vivino, 2 great-nephews Tyler G. Simpson, Cole M. Simpson, a great-great nephew John Anthony Huntebrinker. She was predeceased by 2 infant brothers Robert J. and John A. McClelland, 1 sister Barbara J. Hentz (the late Gerard).
Relatives and friends are invited to a Viewing on Wednesday, October 30, 2024 from 6:00-7:00 p.m. at the Emil J. Ciavarelli Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, 516 Fayette St., Conshohocken, PA. A Graveside Service will be held on Friday, November 1, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at Prospect Cemetery, Cemetery Road, Portage, PA, followed by Interment. In lieu of flowers, donations in Molly's name can be sent to the Montgomery County SPCA, 19 E. Ridge Pike, Conshohocken, PA 19428 or to Trinity United Methodist Church, 817 Caldwell Ave., Portage, PA
