Obituary published on Legacy.com by Norman J. Wimer Funeral Home on Sep. 18, 2024.
Martha J. (Geisler) Blystone, age 83, of Tidioute, PA, formerly of Valencia, PA, died at her home in Tidioute on Tuesday, September 17, 2024. She was born July 29, 1941 in Pittsburgh, PA, daughter of the late Ruth (Ryan) Fox and John Fox.
On February 1, 1958 she married Raymond O. Blystone, who died on February 5, 2006. Martha and her husband moved to this very rural area just outside of Tidioute in 1994. She so much loved the area that, after her husband's death, she continued to live here for the next 18 years (until her recent passing).
Prior to moving to Tidioute she was employed by Denny's Restaurant where she moved up through various positions. She loved and fondly often recalled her time working with co-workers and the patrons of Denny's. One of her more recent favorite pastimes was going to Salamanca, NY to the Casino. She loved to play cards and enjoyed everything about nature.
Surviving are two sons, Jeffrey A. Blystone and his wife Deanna of Worthington, PA.; Raymie O. Blystone and his wife Kimberly of Butler, PA. 10 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren with another great-granddaughter on the way. Three sisters, Adele Dignin of Kansas: Doris Ann Stone of Cranberry Twp., Butler County, PA: Jacquelyn Reay and her husband Bill of Tidioute. A daughter-in-law, Mary Blystone of New Kensington, PA. Several nieces and nephews. Martha loved her feline housemate, Abby the cat.
In addition to her parents and her husband she was preceded in death by a son, John Blystone. Four brothers, John Fox Jr., James Fox, Earl Geisler, James Geisler. Three sisters are also deceased, Doreen Elder, Coreen Marshall, Dorothy Elder.
Friends are welcome to attend graveside services at Limestone Cemetery just off of Route 337 outside of Tidioute on Saturday, September 21, 2024 at 11 am with Rev. Denise Mains, Pastor of the Calvary United Methodist Church of Oil City, PA, officiating. A luncheon will follow at the Tidioute Fire Hall. Arrangements are under the direction of the Norman J. Wimer Funeral Home of Tionesta, PA. Messages of sympathy may be left at www.wimerfuneralhome.com or find us on FACEBOOK.
