Marvel Maxine Foster, 92, of Topeka, KS passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 12, 2026, at her daughter's home. Marvel was born on May 23,1933 in Corning, KS, to Elmer Ernest and Gertrude Edwina (Broadbent) Johnson.

Marvel was a longtime resident of Meriden before moving to Topeka in 2013. She graduated from Topeka High School in 1952. She drove a school bus for Jefferson West USD 340 (1969-1980 & 1999-2005). She also worked at Hallmark Cards for 16 years, retiring in 1997.

She married Marvin "Fuzz" Foster July 12,1954 and they later divorced in 1979.

Marvel leaves behind a legacy of love, finding joy in the many handmade blankets and cozy items she knitted and crocheted over the years for her family and friends. She also enjoyed watching the Chiefs, Royals, Kansas Jayhawks and the Hallmark Channel. Marvel was a member of Grantville United Methodist Church.

Marvel is survived by her daughters, Suzy (Bruce) Turpin, Topeka, KS; Stacey (Danny) Erdman, Meriden, KS; one son, Steven Foster of Topeka, KS; daughter-in-law Kathy Foster, Ozawkie, KS; 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren, one brother, Glenn (Marie) Johnson, Dedham, MA; one sister, Marilyn Mainey, Topeka, KS and several nieces, nephews and extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sons, Randy Foster (2001) and Jeff Foster (2025) a grandson, Ryan Turpin (2009) and a brother, Gary Johnson (1997).

A Memorial Celebration of Life will be 11:00 AM, Saturday, April 4, 2026 at Grantville United Methodist Church, 3724 South St, Grantville, KS. Visitation will be 10:00 to 11:00 AM prior to Service at the Church. Inurnment is planned for a later date at Meriden Cemetery.

Memorials suggested to Midland Hospice.

Barnett Family Funeral Home is assisting the family.

I am sorry for your loss. I have four blankets she made me. Three were for my daughter and great nieces. I cherish those blankets and my Chiefs blanket she made goes up every year since she made it. In 1992 she crochet those. Was a wonderful kind lady
