Marvin Shaak Obituary

Marvin J. Shaak, 99, of Palmyra, PA, died Sunday, November 24, 2024 at Londonderry Village.
He was the widower of Jeanette R. (Balsbaugh) Shaak, who died on March 6, 2013.
Born in Jackson Twp., PA on May 31, 1925, he was the son of the late Allen and Anna (Smith) Shaak.
A 1943 graduate of Myerstown High School, he was employed by Sterling Drug Co., Myerstown as a senior materials handler for 22 years retiring in 1987. Prior to Sterling Drug, Marvin was a dairy farmer in Jackson Twp. for many years.
He was a member of St. Paul's U.C.C., Newmanstown, a member of the Goodwill Fire Co., Myerstown, and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening.
Marvin is survived by a daughter, Denise J. Weaver, of Myerstown; a son, Dennis M. Shaak, husband of Martha J., of Palmyra; two granddaughters, Rachel E. Shaak, of Honolulu, HI, and Tara L. Hoy, of Myerstown; a grandson, Thomas L. Hoy, of Chambersburg; and two great-grandchildren, Joshua and Sadie Leong.
A memorial service will be held Monday, January 20, 2025 at 11 a.m. at St. Paul's UCC, 13 Church Road, Newmanstown, PA 17073. Interment will follow at the Millbach Cemetery.
