Mary Cummins Obituary

Lifelong Siskiyou County resident Mary Cummins passed away peacefully on October 3, 2024 at Madrone Hospice in Yreka. She was 95 years old.
Mary was born on January 4, 1929 in Gazelle to Manuel and Mary Silva. She attended and graduated from Yreka High School. On November 9, 1946 at Saint Joseph Church, she married the love of her life, Earl Cummins. She was a member of Saint Joseph Catholic Church. She enjoyed traveling with family, maintaining her yard and home. She especially enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Cummins; her sister, Edna Rizzardo (John); brothers Jim Silva (Shirley), Raymond Silva (Penny); and her oldest son, Theodore Cummins (Kathy).
Mary is survived by her sister, Patty Thomas of Santa Rosa; her daughter, Laurie Cummins-Shryock (Mark) of Las Vegas, Nevada; a son, Roger Cummins (Susan Reather) of Yreka; her grandchildren: Brenda Cummins of Sacramento, Robert Cummins (Melissa) of Yreka, Jason Cummins (Heather) of Reno, Nevada, and James Cummins of Yreka. She is also survived by nine great grandchildren and a new great great granddaughter.
A rosary will be recited on Monday, October 14, 2024 at 9:30 AM at Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Yreka, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM. A reception and pot luck will be held after mass at Saint Joseph Parish Hall.
