Mary Henry Field Obituary

Published by Legacy on Sep. 22, 2024.
Mrs. Mary Frances Henry Field, age 91 of Greenwood, Indiana, entered this life on December 5, 1932 in Jefferson County, Indiana. She was the loving daughter of the late Dawson Albert and Luella Smith Henry. She was raised in the Hanover community where she graduated high school in 1950. On April 1, 1948 while attending a dance, she met her future husband Dale. They were united in marriage on June 4, 1950 at the Kent Baptist Church in Kent, Indiana. This happy union of 74 years was blessed with two sons, Stephen Thomas and Dale Thomas, and a daughter, Ruth Denise. They settled in Scottsburg and opened a restaurant called Dal-Mar on Highway 31, later converting it to a grocery store. Dale's career was in the oil industry and this led them to residing in Indianapolis and Seymour and eventually retiring in Greenwood. Mary Frances was a devoted wife, loving mom, grandma and great grandma. She worked for a time in downtown Indianapolis at the Sears Catalog Store. After she raised her children, she worked in radiology offices in the billing department. Mary Frances was a faithful member of the South Port Baptist Church (now One Christian Church). Mary Frances died on Saturday, September 21, 2024, at 1:48 p.m. at the Greenwood Village South in Greenwood, Indiana.
