Mary Henry, age 89, passed away Tuesday, October 29, 2024 peacefully at her home in Silverton. Graveside Service will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 2, 2024 at the Silverton Cemetery with GJ Walton officiating. Viewing will be 12:00 p.m.- 4:00 p.m., Friday, November 1, 2024 at the Moore-Rose Visitation Parlor in Silverton. Arrangements are under the direction of Moore-Rose Funeral Home.
Mary was born August 22, 1935, at home in Robertson, Crosby County, Texas to Tom and Otelia (Bowen) Lockwood. She was blessed to come to know the Lord when she was 9 years old. Mary attended Lorenzo High School and graduated in 1953. She met the love her life, Weldon Franklin Henry, and they were married June 14, 1953, and enjoyed 68 years of marriage. She was an avid student of God's Word and taught Precept classes for over 40 years. She was a faithful and loving wife to Weldon, a wonderful mother to her children, a fantastic grandmother and great grandmother. She and her sister shared the same birthday, and they were best friends all her life. Her family was the center of her life. Mary was a member for First Baptist Church of Silverton.
She is preceded in death by her parents; by her loving husband Weldon; one daughter, Otelia Karrol Henry Sneed; one son Weldon Franklin Henry, Jr.; one granddaughter, Crystal Diann Henry; and one grandson, Jeffery Dallas McKinzie.
Those left to cherish Mary's memory are her sister, Betty Jean Lockwood Hart; her daughter Kathi Diann Henry McKinzie; three grandchildren, John Thomas McKinzie, Jessica Dianne Richardson and Mary Helen McKinze, and three great-grandchildren.
