Mary Lee Lopez Lewis, 97 years old, was called to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on September 30, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She entered this world on February 20, 1928, born to Leontine and Albert Lopez, in Bayou Goula, LA. She was a member of St. Isidore Catholic Church.
Mary is survived by her three daughters and two sons-in-law, Priscilla Lewis Haynsworth of Zachary, Robin Lewis Overhultz (Jerry) of Baker, and Tammie Lewis Fazio (Tommy) of Baton Rouge; one son and a daughter-in-law, Michael G. Lewis (Betty) of Central; 14 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, and 9 great-great grandchildren and 3 on the way.
Mary is preceded in death by her loving husband, Lester Hunter Lewis; father, Albert Joseph Lopez; mother, Leontine Boudreaux Lopez; son, Asa W. Lewis; 1 grandchild, James Haynsworth; 3 brothers; and 4 sisters.
Serving as pallbearers will be the grandsons.
Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for the visitation at St. Isidore Catholic Church, 5657 Thomas Rd, Baton Rouge, LA, on Friday, October 3, 2025, from 9:00 AM until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM, officiated by Father Charbel Jamhoury. The graveside service and burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, in Baker, Louisiana.
