Mary Ella Crawford Marrs passed away Monday September 30th 2024.
She was 88 years old. Mary was born in Lamar, Oklahoma on May 8th, 1936. She was raised on a farm in Lamar by her parents along with eight siblings.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Leonard and Laura Crawford and siblings Junior, Jack, Betty, Joy, Corrine, Tom, Judy, and Allen.
She is survived by her daughter Karen Egesdal and son-in-law Paul of Oklahoma City, granddaughters Laura Egesdal and Elizabeth Egesdal of Edmond and Oklahoma City, her life partner Jenny Scoggins of Harrah, Oklahoma, nephew and niece David and Ladonna Merkel of Holdenville. Mary graduated from Moss, Oklahoma high school in 1954. Not long after graduation she joined the Navy and played fast pitch softball for the U.S. Marine Corps for two years. She retired from York International of Norman Oklahoma in 1996 and moved to a home on the lake in Eufaula, Oklahoma. She spent 25 happy years there with her partner Jenny and a wonderful group of friends. She always remained close with her siblings, nieces and nephews.
