Macon – Mary LaFavor Smith, age 93, passed away Thursday, October 10, 2024, in Autumn Lane Health and Rehabilitation in Gray. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 15, 2024, at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of Mathis Funeral Home. Burial will be private in Bowers Cemetery.
Mrs. Mary, born in Dodge County, had lived most of life in Macon and Cochran. She was the daughter of the late Noah and Zina Belflower LaFavor and was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby R. Smith, her son and daughter-in- law, Michael R., Sr. and Kathy Mullis Smith, her siblings, Martha Poole, Evelyn Williams, Lucille Fountain, Polly Stewart, Laverne Skinner, Roni LaFavor and James LaFavor. She was a retired insurance auditor for Cigna Insurance. Mrs. Mary loved her family, grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was a member of Limestone Baptist Church.
Survivors are her son, Ed (Glenda) Smith of Macon; seven grandchildren; six great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family will greet friends after the service Tuesday at Mathis Funeral Home.
