Mary "Jane" Swanson (Hinkle), age 62, of Grayling, MI passed away unexpectedly on November 20, 2024 in her home.
Jane was born on July 11, 1962 in Grayling, MI to Bernard Emery and Barbara Grace (Dunckley) Hinkle. She was a crafting "queen", always doing something creative like jewelry making and craft shows. She enjoyed playing card games and poker which she was darn good at. She liked to laugh and was a very funny woman who loved to make people laugh; never bashful, always social, and sometimes completely off the wall. She loved dogs and had a few over the years. There is a void in the lives of everyone that she knows now.
Jane will be dearly missed by her daughter, Amber Grace Swanson; grand-kitty, Mildred Pearl; brothers, Fred (Becky) Hinkle, Rodney Hinkle, Douglas Emery (Mary) Hinkle, and Craig Ervin (Jody) Hinkle; many nieces and nephews; and many very good friends.
Jane is preceded in death by her husband Jay T. Swanson, son Zachary T. Swanson, sister Barbara Jo Hinkle, and both of her parents.
Visitation will take place on Monday, December 2, 2024, 11:00 AM at Sorenson-Lockwood Funeral Home until the start of memorial service at 12:00 PM. The service will be live streamed on the Sorenson-Lockwood Funeral Home Facebook page starting just before 12:00 PM. A luncheon will be announced following the service at the Frederic Inn following the service..
