Mary Swinburne, 88, of Bagley, MN passed away on Friday, August 30, 2024, at the Sanford Bagley Medical Center.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, September 7, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at the Cease Family Funeral Home Chapel in Bagley, Minnesota with a visitation one hour prior. Interment will be held at the Bagley City Cemetery in Bagley, Minnesota.
Mary was born on March 31, 1936, in Shevlin, Minnesota, the daughter of Elmer and Agnes (Hagen) Stenlund. Mary grew up in Leonard and graduated from Clearbrook High School in 1953. She married Richard Swinburne on August 2, 1957, in Solway, MN. They raised two children, a daughter Marilee and a son Kim.
Mary worked for five years at Clearwater County Memorial Hospital as a nurse's aide, before becoming a stay-at-home mom and providing daycare for her grandchildren. She was a bookkeeper for her husband's business, Swinburne Trucking Service, for several years. During this time, she cooked for a lot of her husbands working crew. Following her husband's death, Mary has resided at Parksview Apartments for the last 13 years.
Mary was excited when she obtained her driver's license when she was 30 years old. She was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church. She enjoyed reading, cooking, embroidering, and pieced baby quilts together, which she always had on hand

Sisters-Joy Shelquist and Sandra Netland
5 Grandchildren-Jeremiah Liend, Mitch Swinburne, David Swinburne,
Jordan Westrum and Calli Westrum.
9 Great Grandchildren
6 nieces and nephews
Mary was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son-Kim; and granddaughter-Danielle Swinburne
