Dawn Erin (Evans) Lee, known fondly to all as Dawn, departed from this world unexpectedly due to an illness on June 30, 2025, surrounded by the love and warmth of her family in
Bradenton, FL. Born on September 7, 1962, in Monongahela, PA, Dawn's presence enriched the lives of those around her for 62 wonderful years. Her laughter and spirit will be deeply missed but forever cherished by the many hearts she touched. Dawn was a treasured soul who thrived on the connections she made throughout her life. She grew up in Belle Vernon, where her infectious laughter and kind heart became her signature. Her journey continued after graduating from Overbrook High School in Pine Hill, NJ, where she embarked on an adventure to Anna Maria Island to fulfill her lifelong dream. Dawn carried her love for life into her adulthood, nurturing a family and building a career that reflected her passion and her warmth. At the heart of her world was her beloved family. Dawn met the love of her life 42 years ago with Marty Lee, her husband of 38 years, was one of true partnership and mutual devotion. Together, they raised three children: Jared, Kelsey, and Alex, who each inherited Dawn's strong will, compassionate spirit, and sense of humor. Dawn's role as a mother expanded with the cherished arrival of her grandchildren, Gabrielle Cruz and Lincoln Lee, who became the twinkling stars in her sky. Her love extended beyond her immediate family to her mother, Leta Evans, who survives her; her late father, Jack Evans, whom she adored and missed dearly; her sister, Jill (Tom) Mikluscak; and a cohort of nieces and nephews, each one holding a special place in her heart. Professionally, Dawn made a lasting impact at Minnie's Beach Cafe, where her presence was a staple for many years. The Cafe did not just gain an employee but an unforgettable personality who could brighten the gloomiest of days. Her life's work, however, was in raising her three children, a role she undertook with boundless love and unwavering dedication. The pleasures of life were never lost on Dawn, as her interests were as vibrant and diverse as her personality. She possessed an insatiable love for travel, an activity that allowed her to indulge in her curiosity and zest for new experiences. Shopping was not just a pastime but an opportunity for Dawn to relish the joys of finding the perfect gift that would bring a smile to a loved one's face. She found solace in the pages of a good book and took pleasure in the tranquility of boating and fishing, often gazing out at the water with a serene smile. Her soul felt most at home amongst the mountains of North Carolina, where the crisp air and breathtaking views spoke to her spirit. The words that best encapsulate Dawn are loving, thoughtful, and funny. Dawn possessed an uncanny ability to sense the needs of others, anticipate their comforts, and provide support. Her humor was both a joy and a balm, always perfectly timed and infectiously charming. Her loss creates an unfathomable void, but the love and memories she left behind will live on through the countless lives she touched. As we bid farewell to Dawn Erin Lee, we celebrate a life that shone brilliantly, a life that was a testament to the power of love, family, and friendship. Dawn's legacy will continue to inspire and guide those who knew her, and her memory will be a sanctuary of joy and warmth to all.
