Matthew McMenamin Obituary

Matthew Craig McMenamin, age 58 of Barto, PA, passed away peacefully in his sleep Monday, October 28, 2024.
Born in Montgomery County, PA, on May 5, 1966, he was the son of the late Daniel and Ella McMenamin.
Matt was a printer by trade, where he built a reputation over 40 years. Many would have known Coach Matt throughout his years of volunteer coaching with Earl Township baseball, Saint Francis Academy CYO baseball, Boyertown baseball, and his most passionate, Boyertown Optimist Football. During his time volunteering, he built and maintained many fields for both baseball and football.
Matt was a loving son, husband, brother, father and grandfather, and a loyal friend to all-especially to his beloved dog, Spike. His favorite pastimes included supporting Notre Dame football and taking trips to South Bend with family for games, watching Eagles, Phillies, Flyers, and Wings games, spending the day at the Philadelphia Zoo, and listening to the Grateful Dead.
He is survived by his three children, Joshua, Nicholas (Brooke), and Jacob McMenamin, their mother, Mary Beth McMenamin, grandson, Brantley McMenamin, soon-to-be grandson, Dean McMenamin, siblings, Christine Dembicki (Bruce), Brian McMenamin (Annemarie), Stephen McMenamin (Debbie), Sean McMenamin (Mary Ann), Linda McMenamin, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
A memorial service will be held Saturday November 9, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Catagnus Funeral Home & Cremation Center, LLC., 1020 E. Philadelphia Ave., Gilbertsville, PA 19525. Visitation will be held Saturday from 9:30-10:45 AM at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to the Philadelphia Zoo.
