Matthew Wallace Obituary

Matthew Justin Wallace, age 19, passed away on September 4, 2024. He is survived by his loving and devoted parents, Julie Wallace and Jeffrey Wallace, Jr; loving grandparents, Patricia Wallace and Jeffrey Wallace, Sr; Dear Aunts and Uncles; Matt Lyman, Jennifer and Ron Castillo, Justin and Erica Wallace, and Jawaan Wallace; Beloved cousins, Kendall, Michael, William, Bryson and Hudson; Preceded in death by his loving grandparents, Gary and Ann Lyman.
Matthew was a sweet, caring, generous young man who was loved by many. He was smart, sensitive, charming, and funny. Although he was an only child, Matthew had a wonderful group of friends who meant the world to him. They were his brothers and sisters, his chosen family, and he loved them dearly. Matthew loved spending time with family and friends. He loved Chautauqua summers, Christmas music, and his dog, Violet. Other interests included movies, Lego, Marvel, Star Wars, drawing, gaming, skiing, swimming, and travel. Matthew enjoyed his work as a lifeguard at the Twinsburg Fitness Center. He was a student at Ohio University and loved his time in Athens. It truly felt like hOUme.
In lieu of flowers the family wishes memorials to Rescue Village (www.rescuevillage.org) or Ohio University, Division of Student Affairs, Food Pantry Support Fund (giving.ohio.edu).
