Obituary published on Legacy.com by Community Mortuary on Jul. 7, 2025.
Sue Carol Lonergan (née Landers) passed away peacefully at her home in Otay Mesa, California, on the morning of June 28, 2025, at 9:13 a.m. PST. She was 94 years old.

Sue was born on February 2, 1931, and lived a life marked by grace, love, and unwavering faith. For 40 wonderful years, she shared her life with her beloved husband, Bill Lonergan. Married on February 16, 1985, their union was a testament to enduring love, joy, and devotion-built on shared values and countless cherished memories.

A woman of deep spiritual conviction, Sue was a lifelong member of Trinity Fellowship Community Church (formerly Otay Mesa Christian Reformed Church). Her faith was central to her life, and her steady presence and service within the church community touched many. She found special joy in teaching Sunday school, sharing her love of scripture and nurturing faith in the hearts of young children.

Sue had a passion for flowers and found joy in creating beautiful floral arrangements, bringing color and warmth into the lives of others. She also adored her dogs, who were her faithful companions through the years, and she delighted in traveling the world with Bill aboard Princess Cruises-cherishing the adventures and memories they shared at sea.

Sue will be lovingly remembered for her warmth, quiet strength, and the kindness she offered to all. Her presence brought comfort, and her faith-filled life was an example to many.

She was preceded in death by her beloved sister, Betty Dodd, whose memory she carried with her always.

Sue's life leaves behind a lasting imprint of grace, devotion, and love that will continue to shine in the hearts of all who knew her.

A memorial service celebrating Sue's life will be held on Saturday, July 12th at 2:00 p.m. at Trinity Fellowship Community Church in Otay Mesa.
