Melvin “Mel “Douglas Boudreau, age 80, a long-time resident of Littleton, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 20, 2024, at his home with his loving family by his side. He was the beloved and devoted husband of Mary (Walsh) Boudreau for 58 years.
Born on November 5, 1943, in Sydney, Nova Scotia, Canada, he was the son of the late Roy and Mary (Snow) Boudreau.
Mel was raised and educated in Nova Scotia and later moved to Cambridge, where he met Mary Walsh. They married on October 11, 1966, at St. John’s Church in Cambridge and moved to Littleton in 1974, where they raised their daughters together.
Mel worked for many years as a truck driver. His career started with Horn Packaging Corp in Ayer, Digital Equipment Corporation in Maynard & New Balance in Lawrence until his retirement in 2012. He never missed a day of work and was very proud of his impeccable driving record.
Family was the center of his life; he cherished the time with his wife, daughters, and later grandsons, where they would spend many happy times around the swimming pool.
Mel also enjoyed making miniature models of all his familiar places; his attention to detail in all that he did was admired by all who knew him.
He also enjoyed watching NASCAR, building model trains, working in his yard, and collecting NASCAR memorabilia.
Along with his wife Mary, he is survived by his daughters, Jean Boudreau Graham and her husband, Daniel, of Littleton, and Kimberly Boudreau and her partner, Chris Rosati, of Ayer, his grandsons Nathan Graham and Nicholas Graham, as well as his brothers Roy and Wayne Boudreau and his pets Mia and Rosie.
