Mettis Louise Yardley was born April 24, 1930, in Clarkton, Missouri, to Charles and Mettis (Woodson) Douglas. She passed away on February 14, 2025, in the Life Care Center of Sullivan at the age of 94.
Louise is preceded in death by one daughter, Sandy "Sam" Yardley; and her husband of nearly 60 years, Tunney L. Yardley.
She leaves behind two daughters, Jane M. Hartman of Troy, MO, and Dawna L. Yardley of Cuba, MO; numerous nieces and nephews; and extended family and friends.
Louise was Mom, AuntieMom, and Mom Y to many.
She graduated from Mountain View High School in 1947. She married Tunney in 1951 and moved to St. Louis until he retired in 1986, and they moved to Cuba.
Louise loved to play the piano, especially Boogie Woogie, Big Band, and Gospel music. She also loved Snoopy. There wasn't a stuffed animal with a "Play Me" button that she could resist.
She will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, at Greenlawn Cemetery, Mountain View, Missouri, under the direction of Yarber Mortuary, Mountain View. Condolences may be expressed at www.yarbermortuary.com.
