Michael "Mike" Alexander, age 52, of Albertville, Alabama, passed away on February 2, 2024. A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, Mike's life was filled with love, laughter, and a deep commitment to his family.
A funeral service to celebrate Mike's life will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, February 7, 2024, at Rose Road Church of God. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service at the church, beginning at 12:00 pm. Mr. Alexander will be laid to rest at Douglas Cemetery.
Mike dedicated his professional life to service, working as a plumber assistant alongside Eddie Houst at Emergency Plumbing. Additionally, he lent his skills as a mechanic and welder to Boiler Makers Local #108, who all knew him as "Catfish".
As a child, Mike attended Rose Road Church of God and Baltimore Ave. Church of God, and during his time in the Birmingham area, he was a member of Pleasant Grove Church of God. His commitment to the church shone through as he dedicated his time to the Boys Club, making a positive impact on the lives of young individuals. In addition to his many talents, Mike played the drums for the choir at the churches he attended, infusing the worship services with his passion for music.
Mike's love for the outdoors was evident in his favorite pastimes of hunting and fishing, activities he shared with his father and later enjoyed with his sons. His family held a special place in his heart, and he cherished every moment spent with his wife of 24 years, Kaye Alexander; children, Marcus Alexander (Sassy), Kaige Eakes (Taylor), Sabrina Alexander, and Matthew Alexander. The joy of Mike's life extended to his grandchildren, Piper, Bryson, Mason, Kyle, Crimson, and another granddaughter due in March.
Mike is also survived by his mother, Nettie Alexander, and sisters, Wanda McWhorter (Jerry) and Vonda Alexander; and a host of nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father, M.D. Alexander, and grandson, Maximus Alexander.
