It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Michael Alberto Duran, 26, who left us unexpectedly on Sunday October 19, 2025, in Panama City, FL.

A lifelong resident of Aiken, Michael was a son of Amanda Aberle-Dixon and Alberto Duran Castorena. He attended Aiken County Schools and was a machine operator at Shaw Industries. Michael formerly worked at Red Lobster and loved his Red Lobster family.Known for his cheerful disposition, Michael enjoyed sharing his love for music as a DJ and had a passion for firearms and drag racing. His vibrant spirit and enthusiasm touched the lives of many around him. Michael is survived by his loving parents, Mandy and Shari Aberle-Dixon, and Alberto and Rachel Duran-Castorena. He leaves behind his sister, Elizabeth Duran, and brother, Isaac Duran. Also surviving are his maternal grandparents, Michael and Ginger Dixon, paternal grandparents, Esther and Alberto Cruz, as well as his aunts, Jennifer Smith and Dalila Vega (Carlos), and uncle, Andres Duran. 

The family will receive friends Saturday afternoon, October 25th beginning at 2 o’clock at Talatha Baptist Church. The funeral service will follow at 3 o’clock with The Rev. Jordan Bird officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Charles Hobby, Andres Duran, Baylor Williams, Jaye Allison, Carlos Vega and Phillip Dixon. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Talatha Baptist Church’s Building Fund, 361 Talatha Church Rd., Aiken, SC.
