A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, October 30, 2024 at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church honoring the life of Michael Guidry, 77, who passed away on October 28, 2024 at his residence. Michael was a dedicated volunteer firefighter for 25 years with the Kaplan Fire Department.
A visitation will take place at Vincent Funeral Home of Kaplan on Tuesday from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM and will continue on Wednesday from 8:00 AM to 1:30 PM. A rosary will be prayed at 6:00 PM on Tuesday. Reverend Paul Bienvenu will officiate at the funeral mass. Burial will follow at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife of 19 years, Cathy Guidry of Kaplan; one daughter, Khristina and her husband, Marc Touchet of Erath; one granddaughter, Kaitlyn Touchet of Erath; two step children, Amanda and Justin Hebert both of Kaplan; and two step grandchildren, Hayden Picard and Jax Hebert both of Kaplan.
He is preceded in death by his first wife of 31 years, Faye Guidry; his parents, Clovis Guidry and the former Leah Abshire; and three brothers, Odese, Burnace and Cleopha Guidry.
