Michael Prater Obituary

He graduated from Western High School, Class of 1969. He spent many years working as a mechanic and a handyman. He was an avid member of the Early Ford V8 Club. He enjoyed restoring classic vehicles, trips to the casino, fishing, talking politics "fight, fight, fight", watching the Detroit Lions and Michigan State Spartans and numerous trips with his beloved wife and friends Ken (Teri) Datte and Paul (Chris) Rebescher.
A Celebration of his Life will be held at 5:00 p.m. Saturday November 9, 2024, at The Arbor Church, 120 E. Main Street, Spring Arbor, Michigan. Please feel free to wear something Detroit Lions or Michigan State Spartans to the Celebration of Life to honor Mike. In lieu of flowers please make donations to The Red Cross North Carolina Hurricane Relief.

Mike was always willing to help others. When my uncle, John Seeley passed away, Mike and the Early Ford V-8 Club members pitched together to help organize the multiple cars and parts. I would have been lost without their help. He frequently visited my uncle during his lengthy illness. He was all heart and will be greatly missed.

Mike loved to collect everything. He made use of everything. He helped my husband put gravel on the road and plowed the road for years. We will miss him dearly!

Bertie Michael my mom and I would always see him and his mom at Country buffet. The good ole days. A great man big hearted and rejoicing in heaven

My favorite memories of the Praters that my mother Norma would visit Bertie on Erie Rd. Tim, Johnny my sister and I would play outside when weather permitted. I seen the brothers that were older. Michael had the prettiest curly blond hair. The other brothers would always say hello and Emily is so sweet. There is a picture of my mom and my aunt holding baby Theresa and Bernadine holding Greg. Taken on Bertie´s front porch. Time just flies. Mike had a heart of gold. My cousin Greg and wife Jenell. Would go over to McCain rd help Michael with whatever. He will be missed by so many family members and friends. He always would ask me how I was doing. 24 years of health issues for me I could sit and talk to Michael and his mom for hours. My mother, my sister and I keep you all in our praye
