I went to boot camp with Mike and he slept in the bunk next to me.
Being in such a stressful environment for the first time, I had a lot of trouble going to sleep and staying asleep.
On not less than 4 occasions, I woke up in the middle of the night terrified that I had overslept and the RDC's (drill sergeants) had busted in to wake us all up. I would urgently start getting my boots on before looking over and seeing Mike still sound asleep in his bunk!
Being the good shipmate I was, I would shake him awake and tell him to get dressed. He would hop straight out of bed and start getting dressed until one of us eventually noticed it was, in fact, still the middle of the night.
