Michelle Marie Petersen, aged 45, from San Antonio, TX, was a beloved figure who touched the lives of those around her with her unwavering dedication to her family and her vibrant spirit.
Born on March 28, 1979, to Edwin Dale Petersen and Lori Ann Kirkham, she was a cherished mother, grandmother, daughter, aunt, and sister. Her life centered around creating a nurturing and loving environment for her children, and she was celebrated for her ability to make everyone feel cherished.
Known for her fondness for retail therapy, Michelle's frequent Amazon shopping adventures became a charming quirk that endeared her to friends and family alike. Since 2006, her career at Toyota was not only a professional journey but a source of personal fulfillment. As a grandmother, she embraced her role with warmth and joy, finding immense happiness in the company of her grandchildren. Her unique bond with her mother, who was her best friend, was a testament to the deep connections she fostered. Michelle's legacy of love and commitment lives on in the hearts of all who knew her, including her nieces and nephews, who affectionately called her Aunt Shelly. Her memory will forever be a beacon of love and warmth.
Michelle and William Dorris were married on July 11, 1997, marking the beginning of their life together. They welcomed their first son, Dustin Doris, into the world, bringing joy and fulfillment to their family. As time passed, Michelle closed one Chapter of her life, Moving Forward Michelle's family expanded further with the birth of her second son, Jeremy Jenkins, and later, her daughter, Jasmyne Jenkins as well as a bonus Son Johnnie Jenkins. Each child added a unique dynamic to Michelle's life, contributing to a family story rich in love and shared experiences.
Our heartfelt condolences go out to the family and friends of Michelle during this difficult time. She leaves behind a loving family, including her mother, Lori Ann Kirkham of Poteet, Step-Dad William Barfield of Poteet TX, and four children: Dustin Dorris of Ingleside, TX, Jeremy Jenkins of San Antonio, TX, Jasmyne Trevino and her husband Carlos Trevino of San Antonio, TX, and Johnathan Jenkins of San Antonio, TX, who will cherish her memory. Michelle is also survived by her five sisters: Crystal Lenzy and Bryant Johnson of Nolanville, Tonya Phillips and Mark Morales of Poteet, Belinda Petersen of Rockport, Nicole Sanchez and Patrick Sanchez of Rockport, and Chrissy Edwards and Ryan Edwards of Little Elm. Her two brothers, John Petersen of Austin and James Phillips of San Antonio, also carry forward her legacy. May they find comfort in the love and support of each other and the memories they shared with Michelle. The biggest part of her heart she left with us all is her grandchildren: Benjamin Jenkins of San Antonio, Allison Jenkins of San Antonio, Shelby Jenkins of San Antonio, and Evelynn Jenkins of San Antonio. And Chevy Trevino of San Antonio as well as One that is on his way Cash Trevino Of San Antonio TX and Many Nieces and nephews and Extended Family..
Michelle is warmly received in the afterlife by a loving assembly of her cherished family members. Her father, Edwin Dale Petersen, greets her with open arms, along with her maternal grandparents, Roland Allen Kirkham and Fay Ola Kirkham.Her paternal grandparents, Glen Petersen and Sue Petersen, are also there to welcome her into this new realm of peace. Joining them is her Brother-in-Law Frank Lenzy, great nephew, Carter Ion Jones, whose youthful spirit brings joy to the reunion. Her favorite cousin, (LT) Tommy Peoples, stands by her side, a comforting presence among a gathering of many great aunts and uncles, all ready to share their love and stories. Their collective embrace envelops Michelle, ensuring that she is surrounded by warmth and cherished memories in this eternal Peace.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 11, 2024, at Hurley Funeral Home from 2:00 pm until 9:00 pm. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 12, 2024, at 1:00 pm at River of Life Christian Fellowship, 12335 La Vernia Road in Adkins. Services will conclude at the church.
