Mrs. Mildred Hollis age 97 died Saturday, September 28, 2024 in Denton, Texas. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, October 2, 2024 at 2 'clock PM at Hillside Memorial Gardens in Snyder, Texas with Dr. Marty Akins officiating. A visitation will be held from 1-2 PM Wednesday at Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home prior to the graveside service. Arrangements are under the direction of Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.
Mrs. Hollis was born March 21, 1927 in Electra, Texas to Eldon and Lucy ( Trammel) Hicks. She married Floyd Hollis March 4, 1944 in Frederick, OK. He preceded her in death September 23, 1997. Mildred was a member of First Baptist Church in Snyder and was the Deputy Clerk for Scurry County for 20 years. She loved her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She also enjoyed playing dominoes and riding motorcycles.
She is survived by son Benny Hollis and wife Nicole of Conroe, TX; daughter Alice Townes and husband Andy of Denton, TX; daughter-in-law Bonnie Hollis of Amarillo, TX; 10 grandchildren; Ninette Hawkins, Jeremy Hollis, Hayley Phillips, Whitney Hollis, Mary Castillo, Trey Hollis, Lane Hollis, Paige Hollis, Josh Townes, Jacob Townes, 13 great-grandchildren; Blake Eagle, Alec Arena, Avery Phillips, Hogan Phillips, Beckett Phillips, Aidan Castillo, Ashton Castillo, Annistyn Castillo, Hunter Townes, Jaxson Townes, Phoenix Townes,Cade Bell, Brock Bell and 2 great great grandchildren: Harley Eagle, Oliver Eagle.
She was preceded in death by: Parents Eldon and Lucy Hicks, husband Floyd Hollis, daughter Carolyn Greene, son Tommy Hollis, sisters Beatrice Hicks Rennick and Norma Hicks Begeman, brothers Ralph and Doug Hicks.
