Milo G. Mercer age 86 of Lone Rock passed away unexpectedly on Monday, October 27, 2025 at Casa De Oakes in Reedsburg, WI. Milo was born January 6, 1939 the son of Kenneth and Lorraine (Broughton) Mercer.
He served in the United States Navy from 1956 to 1959 and was married to the former Evelyn Stoltz on August 26, 1961. Milo was a member of the Iron Workers Union #383, Spring Green Rod and Gun Club, Wisconsin River Runners ATV Club, and Muscoda Sportsman's Club. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed boating and fishing on the Wisconsin River, riding horses with friends, and hunting at his cabin up on the hill.
Survivors include his son, Jeffrey (Patty) Mercer of Stitzer, WI; his daughter, Janell (Dale) Horne of Marshall, WI; granddaughters, Gracie Mercer (Austin Doyle) of Fennimore, Haley Horne of Marshall; his brother, Jerry Mercer of Fennimore; a sister-in-law, Donna (Gary) Gorman of Lone Rock; brother-in-law, Orville (Kandace) Stoltz of Ridgeway, WI; sister-in-law, Margaret Stoltz of Rogers, North Dakota, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Lorraine Mercer; his wife, Evelyn Mercer; infant grandson, Augustus Gene Mercer; brother, Kenny (Sharon) Mercer; sister-in-law, Carol Mercer; and brother-in-law, John Stoltz.
A private family burial will be held at the Button Cemetery. A celebration of Milo's life will be held on Friday, November 21, 2025 from 3:00 P.M.- 7:00 P.M. at the Wisconsin Riverside Resort in Spring Green. In honor of Milo please don your orange hunting attire and have a beer on Milo.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Badger Honor Flight or Ocooch Mountain Humane Society.
