Dear Babich Family,

The Papich Family knew Mladen for many years. Steve remembers Mladan when he was a young boy growing up. Mladen would climb the Papich back staircase to visit with Dad and Grandmother. They taught Mladen English as we sat at my Grandmother's table and chairs. We still own that dining set.

While hunting for a moose 5 miles outside of Anaconda, Steve shot an elk while hunting with Mladen. Mladen whipped out many razor-sharp knives as they gleamed in the bright morning sun. The elk was butchered onsite in manageable pieces so we could drag it up the steep hill with help from my brothers.

While in Mill Creek Valley, I shot a moose. Mladen led the dragging party to retrieve the moose. We dragged it out whole. We crossed creeks and ponds, breaking ice in this adventure.

We'll always remember Mladen for many happy reasons.
