Murray Jaffe passed away on February 22, 2025, almost four months shy of his 101st birthday. Murray was born and raised in Richmond Hill, Queens, and served in the United States Army, 169th Infantry, during World War II from 1943-1945, where he fought in Luzon and the Philippines Islands. Murray was the recipient of the Combat Infantryman Badge. After the war, he received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Queens College. He was a successful business owner in the textile industry, with locations in SoHo, downtown Manhattan, long before SoHo was in vogue. Shortly after the death of his beloved wife Patricia, he began residing in the Sands Point Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and remained there for the last twenty-two years of his life. Murray was a wonderful father and a kind and friendly man, befriending all the residents at Sands Point and inquiring about their lives. He will be greatly missed by his children Mark and Liz, and all those who loved him.
