Nadine Conn Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by William D. Elkin Funeral Home - North East on Oct. 29, 2024.
Nadine I. (Stutzman) Conn, age 92, of North East, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday October 27, 2024 surrounded by her family at home.
She was born on April 15, 1932 in Wood River, Nebraska to the late Vernon and Elma (Schweitzer) Stutzman.
Nadine spent her childhood in Nebraska, Iowa and later in Wattsburg, PA where her parents established a diary farm. She grew up attending the Beaverdam Mennonite Church in Corry, PA where she gained a deep relationship with Jesus Christ and developed her Christian faith. She also attended the North East CMA Church for many years.
In 1965, along with her husband, Neal purchased her family's dairy farm where they raised their children, expanded the farm with horses, and in 1986 moved to North East.
While living in North East they owned Belgian and Percheron Draft horses which were showcased at several Erie and Chautauqua County events including the North East Winefest and Peek'n Peak Fall Fest.
Together they also enjoyed county and state fairs showing their Draft Horses and gaining many life long friends through these events.
Nadine first and foremost had a strong faith and love in her Lord & Savior Jesus Christ. Her strong faith and love will live on in her family.
She enjoyed her daily devotionals, reading her Bible, sewing, quilting, cooking, gardening, reading, and listening to gospel music.
Nadine loved spending time with her family that was so precious to her. She will be dearly missed. Mom went to Heaven on October 27, 2024 to celebrate her mothers birthday.
She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Derald Stutzman, Fern Eash, and Fannie Griffiths; and son-in-law, Michael A. Thompson.
Nadine is survived by her husband of 65 years, Neal Conn; children, Bradley Conn (Erin), Kimberly Thompson Franks (Fred), and Sherri Bentley (Preston); sister, Jeannette Griffiths; grandchildren, Trish Gibbons (Tracy), Brett Conn (Ryan), Brady Conn (Jordan), Brock Conn (Kaleigh), Matthew Thompson (Leslie), Eric Thompson (Deborah), Sara Hillhouse, Kendra and Bryce Bentley; great-grandchildren, Isiah Foor (Emma), Mason Weinheimer, Blake Hillhouse, Carter, Peyton, Kyle and Ryan Thompson, and Elaina Conn; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Nadine's family would like to thank her AseraCare Hospice caregivers Maureen, Katie, Bri and Sandy and special friends Gloria and Tammi for all of their compassion and support throughout Nadine's illness.
Friends may call at the William D. Elkin Funeral Home, 65 South Lake Street, North East on Friday November 1st from 3:00 p.m. till 7:00 p.m. and are invited to a funeral service on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
