Nancy A. (McMenamy) Carter, 92, of Rockland, formerly of Easton, passed away on January 24, 2024 after a brief illness. She was the loving wife of the late Albert C. Carter.
Born in Quincy, a daughter of the late Francis J. and Edna I. (Provasi) McMenamy, she was raised in Dorchester and was a graduate of the Jeremiah Burke High School. Nancy continued her education later in life after raising her children and graduated from Stonehill College earning a Bachelor's degree in Liberal Arts.
Nancy was a professional and talented stage dancer performing all over New England as well as France and Morocco and went by the stage name of Robin Blue. She was also a gifted belly dancer.
Before retiring, Nancy was a longtime substitute teacher for the Easton Public Schools and assisted her husband in the operations of the former family business McMenamy's Hamburger House in Easton.
A resident of Easton for 36 years, she was a longtime active volunteer at My Brother's Keeper in Easton as well as a volunteer at the Ames Free Library.
Nancy's hobbies included listening to Jazz, dancing, and painting. She enjoyed traveling to more than 50 countries and was an avid swimmer who loved the ocean. She was an avid reader as well as a quick learner.
Nancy is survived by her children, Laurie Carter of Rockland, Steven Carter and his wife Alison of Easton, Robin Carter and her husband David of Middleboro and was predeceased by her daughter Nancy Krasnow. Also survived by 6 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Helen Collins.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral on Monday, February 3, 2025 from Kane Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 605 Washington Street (Rte.138) Easton at 9:00 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass in the Immaculate Conception Church, 193 Main Street, Easton. Visiting hours will be held on Sunday from 1-4 p.m.
