Nancy Carol Hall, 73
Nancy Carol Hall, 73 of West Portsmouth, died Monday, October 28, 2024 at Kings Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, Kentucky. She was born December 24,1950 in Portsmouth, to the late Reverend Ezra and Louella Estep Howard.
Along with her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by 5 brothers; Ernie Howard, Eddy Howard, David Howard, Ricky Howard and Joey Howard and 2 sisters; Mary Sue Howard and Bonnie Howard.
Nancy was a retired Nurse of over 50 years. Her greatest joy was working with Alzheimer patients. She was proud to be named after her great-grandmother who was a certified midwife to the state of Kentucky in the early 1900's.
Nancy is survived by her husband William C. Hall who she married on December 11, 1971, a son William Aeric (Shannon) Hall, a brother James (Karen) Howard, 4 sisters; Linda Martin, Judy Skaggs, Rudi (Ben) Smith and Betsy (Jules) Altfas, a special sister in law Debbie Howard, also her lifelong friend who she considered a sister Terry (Rick) Schempp and her children; Rachael, Daniel, and Ericka and grandson Tommy whom Nancy claimed as her own, and many special nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held at 7:00 PM Monday, November 4, 2024 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with a special service by the Nurse Honor Guard of the River Cities. A gathering of family and friends will start at 5:00 PM. Nancy kept the spirit of Christmas in her heart all year round. Friends and family are encouraged to wear Christmas attire and/or Christmas jewelry. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation.
