Nancy Hatch Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Slattery Funeral Home - Marlborough on Oct. 5, 2024.
Nancy M. Hatch, 77, of Marlborough, died Wednesday, October 2, 2024, at Brigham and Women's Hospital after a brief illness. She was surrounded by her loving family.
She was the daughter of the late Gunnar R. and Lillian (Miner) Hanson and the wife to David Hatch, Sr. to whom she'd been married 57 years. The two met in junior high school.
Besides her husband, Nancy is survived by her daughter, Michelle Garcia and her partner Robert Murdock of Marlborough and her son David Hatch, Jr., and his wife Lorene Renee Hatch of Frankford, DE, her grandchildren, Brianne, Brittney, David James, Emily, Melanie, Seanan, Rachael, and Olivia, as well as her three great-grandchildren, Kimberly, Kelly, and Carl Cassius. She is also survived by her sister, Denise Palmer, her former son-in-law, Thomas Garcia, and many nieces and nephews. Nancy was predeceased by her brother, Michael Hanson.
Nancy was raised and lived in Maynard, MA for 59 years. She attended Maynard High School as a 4-letter athlete, MVP, lead majorette, and sat on prom court. She was often seen driving through town in her 1963 Red Ford Convertible.
She married her high school sweetheart on the same day as the Impossible Dream Red Sox pennant was won. She had a beautiful honeymoon in the Pocono's where they watched the World Series. She enjoyed traveling to Arizona to visit her sister, Hawaii with her husband, and Disneyworld with her grandchildren.
Nancy had a great, often dark sense of humor. She enjoyed beating her grandkids at cribbage, watching Julian Edelman run with the ball, and made a mean meat stuffing enjoyed by all. Her greatest sense of solitude came from sitting on her porch watching the ocean and looking at Nubble Lighthouse in Maine.
Her careers spanned Emerson Hospital, Digital Equipment Corporation, and her last 17 years were spent at The New England Center for Children with Autism. Her greatest purpose was felt with her relationships with the students. Her absence will be felt by many.
In lieu of flowers please consider a donation in her memory to The New England Center for Children in Southboro, MA.
