Nathalie Gaudier Obituary
Obituary published on Legacy.com by Legacy Growney Funeral Home on Dec. 17, 2024.
Nathalie Antoinette Gaudier was born September 13, 1974, to Emilienne Conner and Alain Gaudier in Marigot, Saint Martin. In 1980, at the age of 6, Nathalie and her family relocated to New Jersey, USA, where she attended school. Following graduation, Nathalie proudly joined The United States Army in 1996.
Nathalie's biggest passion in life was to help others, especially those in her community. She always gave special attention to those who needed a motherly figure and those who needed encouragement and a push in the right direction. This led to her working and volunteering at local community centers and shelters. In recent years, Nathalie worked in the social work and medical consultant field, using her time and energy to empower and advocate for those in her community. She successfully obtained her bachelor's degree (William Paterson University '01) and master's degree (Rutgers University '08) - majoring in Social Work.
As the eldest of her siblings, Nathalie is remembered as being funny, smart, outgoing, self-sacrificing, loud, adventurous, and motivated. She never backed down from protecting her younger sister Melinda, motivating her younger brother Corey, or harassing her ride or die little brother Travis. She did not shy away from speaking EXACTLY what was on her mind, a quality she learned from her dear mother, Emilienne. Through growing pains, they developed a unique relationship and became close. She loved to cook, bake, and do arts and crafts projects. She spent much of her time sharing these interests with her children, nieces, and nephews. (Her favorite craft was making popsicle stick lamps, which she learned from her late beloved aunt, Lissette Henry.) Nathalie deeply loved her children, who inspired her to create a roadmap of courage to face the uncertainty of life. She worked extremely hard to guide them and give them her very best.
Nathalie took her restful sleep from this form and from this earth on December 8, 2024. She will be loved and missed by her loved ones and all whose lives she touched with her kindness and warmth.
Nathalie is survived by her children: Stafford Jr., Nylah, Amira, and Aaliyah Steele; her grandchildren: Nyasia and Issac Rodrigues; her mother Emilienne Samuels; father Alain Gaudier; and Grandmother Violette Conner. Also by her siblings: Melinda Lovett (Lafayette), Arlene Gumbs, Elizabeth, Daniella, and Alexandra Gaudier, Corey Samuels (Jennelle), Travis Samuels (To be determined), and Thierry Gaudier.
