Nathan Samuel White 65, passed away on September 29, 2024, in Spartanburg, South Carolina. He was a cherished of his family and community, known for his deep love for music, adventurous spirit, and caring nature. Nathan was born on July 28, 1959, in Topeka, Kansas to the late Nathaniel and Claudia Franklin.
A graduate of Spartanburg Community College, Nathan earned an associate degree in Horticulture. He spent many years working as a disk jockey and served as the manager of BJ Music store, where he shared his passion for music with others. Nathan had an eclectic taste in music and loved exploring various genres throughout his life. His diverse interests also included traveling, playing tennis, and collecting coins. Nathan was a history buff who enjoyed learning about the past, and his travels took him to remarkable places including England, Wales, and Scotland. He was particularly proud of his ability to speak Russian and German fluently, showcasing his dedication to broadening his horizons. Nathan's military service in the United States Marine Corps reflected his commitment to service and discipline. He embodied a spirit of care and empathy, which was evident in his interactions with family and friends.
Nathan is survived by his sister; Rebecca S. Roper (Eric), a brother; Timothy White, and two nieces; Jennifer White Shackleford (Chris) and Brooke Smith. Nathan was preceded in death by his father; Nathaniel White, his mother; Claudia Franklin White, and a brother; Johnny Mack White.
Friends and family are invited to pay their respects during visitation on Sunday, October 6, 2024, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, located at 2075 E Main St, Spartanburg, SC 29307. A graveside service will be held on Monday, October 7, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens in Spartanburg, at 1300 Fernwood Glendale Rd, Spartanburg, SC 29307.
