Ned Chamblee Obituary

Ned Elwood Chamblee, age 82, of Starr, SC, passed away on Thursday, November 28, 2024, at his home.
Born December 13, 1941, in Anderson, SC, he was a son of the late Albert Chamblee and Helen Ion McGee Chamblee. He was also preceded in death by brothers, Neil Chamblee, Frank Chamblee, and Dan Chamblee; and grandson, Alex Chamblee.
Ned was a graduate of Boys High, was the owner and operator of Chamblee's Groceries, and was a farmer who raised cattle and hogs. He later moved to Texas and worked on oil field. In the last 10 years of his career, he worked as a chief engineer on offshore supply boats off the coast of Nigeria. He was a loving father and grandfather and was of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by his children, Tracy Chamblee Rainey, Alycia Chamblee Nash, and Travis Darrell Chamblee; brother, Jones Chamblee; sister, Patti Greenway; grandchildren, Jessica Tergeoglou (Nic), Magen Rainey, Devon Kaleb Black, Marty Ethan Nash, and Adam Chamblee; and great grandchildren, Raven, Sterling, and Landon.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 5, 2024, from 4:00-5:45 pm at The McDougald Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 6:00 pm in the Chapel with Rev. Barry Davis officiating.
