Nina Steel Obituary

NINA JOY ROGERS STEEL, age 71, of Sherwood, Tenn., departed this life on Friday, December 13, 2024, at her residence following an extended illness with her loving family at her side. Mrs. Steel was born in Sherwood, Tenn., on August 2, 1953, to the late John Rogers, Jr. and Hazel Marie Garner Rogers. Mrs. Steel was a graduate of Franklin County High School. She was a homemaker. Mrs. Steel was of the Episcopal faith. She was an excellent cook and seamstress. Her favorite vacation spots were the Great Smokey Mountains and Florida. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Johnathan Phillip Steel. She is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Kenneth Steel of Sherwood, sons, Kevin Steel and Tim Steel, granddaughter, Texanna Steel, a brother, Ted Rogers and wife, Dale all of Sherwood and one sister, Janet Green and husband, Steve of Sewanee. Several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, December 15, 2024, at Mtn. View Cemetery in Sherwood, with Chaplin Jerry Stewart, officiating. Visitation will be held from 1:30 until service time at 2:00 on Sunday.
