Norma Jean Kelley, age 77, of Tazewell, TN, departed this life on Monday, May 5, 2025, at the Claiborne County Medical Center in Tazewell, TN. She was born on October 2, 1947, in Catletsburg, KY, she was the cherished daughter of McCoy and Stella Evans.
Norma had a creative spirit and took great joy in sewing, making jewelry, and cultivating her beautiful garden filled with vibrant flowers. Her passions extended beyond her hobbies, as she deeply treasured the moments spent with her family and friends, creating memories that will be remembered forever.
She was preceded in death by her father, McCoy Evans; one brother, Jerry Evans; and two sisters, Doris Ann Murray and Vanessa Evans.
Left behind to mourn her passing, her mother, Stella Evans (age 98); her siblings, David and wife Linda Gentry of AR, Charles Evans of Tazewell, TN, Billy Evans of NC, Nancy Wright of Liberty, KY, Kathleen Johnson of London, KY and Patricia and Edward of Middlesboro, KY; children, Joe Harrell of Mooresburg, TN, Cindy McGinnis of Washburn, TN and Steve (Jan) Harrell of Indianapolis, IN; grandsons, Travis Prater, Jordan McGinnis and Christian Harrell; great-grandchildren, Jonathon, Stella, Eli, Cash and Baby McGinnis to arrive soon; as well as a host of other family and friends.
The family of Norma Jean Kelley will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, at the Cawood Funeral Home Chapel, Middlesboro, KY. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 p.m. with Reverend David Rice presiding. Music will be provided by the Friendship Holiness Church singers.
At the conclusion of the funeral service, family and friends will travel in procession to Green Hills Memorial Gardens Mausoleum in Middlesboro, KY, where gravesides services will be held. Serving as pallbearers will be Raymond Wright, David Wright, Scotty Wright, Jordan McGinnis, Alex Evans and Travis Prater. Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Evans, Harley Johnson and Travis Smith.
