Norman R. Moser, age 90, of Wooster, went home to be with the Lord on Friday November 8, 2024, at Ohio's Hospice Life Care in Wooster following a short period of declining health.
He was born in Apple Creek to Alvin J. and Luella (Badertscher) Moser. He was also raised in Dalton for many years and remained in the Wayne County area for all of his life.
He later honorably served in the US Army from June 29, 1954 - June 21, 1956, as Heavy Weapons Infantry man.
Norman then married Wilma Lou Daugherty on September 14, 1954. She went home to be with the Lord on May 27, 2021.
After working for Republic Steel Corp. in Massillon as a Truck Operator, he then worked for Smith Dairy Corp. for the next 40 years before he retired in 1991. Following his retirement, he then drove the wheelchair van for Samaritan Care Ambulance Service in Orrville.
Norman was a member of the Calvary Assembly of God Church in Orrville for many years; he enjoyed playing football during his high school years. He had a great appreciation for nature and loved being outdoors, and playing golf with his son, son in law and grandson. He mostly loved spending time with his family and especially being with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He dedicated his life to serving God and others.
He is survived by his children, Steven Vincent (Faith) Moser of Columbus, Indiana and Becky (Brad) Robinson of Creston, Ohio; grandchildren, Shannon (Leland, Jr.) of Indiana, Holly (Toby) Terry of Indiana, Nathaniel (Liana) Robinson of Orrville, Ohio and Elizabeth (Nathan) Winningham of Burbank, Ohio; 10 great grandchildren, Vincent, Garrett, Amelia, and Wren, Perkinson, Lyric Terry, Ryder and Reece Robinson Sterling, Brooks and Lacey Winningham; Sister-in-Law Shirley Daugherty, many nieces and nephews and friends. Martha and Jim Weldon who were like a brother and sister to him.
In addition to his parents and beloved wife, he is preceded in death by his sister and brother-in-law, Nadine (Robert) Arney.
Services will be on Friday, November 15, 2024, 12:30 PM at Custer-Glenn Funeral Home in Wooster with Pastor Chuck Davis officiating. Burial will follow at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Seville where military honors will be rendered. (Please plan to leave the funeral home in procession by 1:30)
Visitation for family and friends will be one hour prior to the services (11:30 - 12:30 AM) at the funeral home.
