Oscar Davis Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Wilbourn Family Funeral Home - Alex on Sep. 25, 2024.
Oscar Gilbert "Gil" Davis was born to Oscar J. Davis and Patricia Ann (Holloway) Davis on April 29, 1962, in Wayne, Michigan. He passed from this life on September 22, 2024, at his home in Yukon, Oklahoma, at the age of 62.
Gil attended High school in Del City, Oklahoma. He loved singing as part of the Del Aire group during his time there. Gil went on to work in the oilfield as a machinist for over 25 years. He lived in the Oklahoma City area for most of his life.
Gil met the love of his life, Tracy Brinkley, and they were soon wed on June 8, 1996, in Moore, Oklahoma. From this union they welcomed two sons, Colton and Gavin. Gil was also the proud bonus dad of Keith and Mackenzie. Gil also adored his ferocious, challenging, Maltese fur baby, Captain.
When Gil wasn't watching Street Outlaws, or his real true love, the OU Sooners, he could be heard singing to the Lord. He was a talented singer and doing so brought him great joy. For many years, Gil was the soundman for the various churches he attended.
Joined by his wife, Tracy, Gil was an unwavering member of Empowered church in Mustang, Oklahoma. He was baptized in Jesus Name on June 28, 1977, and received the baptism of the Holy Ghost on July 26, 1981. He was a member of the United Pentecostal Church all his life. When Gil attended Sunday School as a youth, he never missed a single day for 16 years. He also faithfully served as Family Ministries leader at various churches during his life.
Gil is survived by his wife, Tracy, of the home, his sons, Colton Andrew Davis and fiancée, Eleaha Haynes of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Gavin Spencer Davis of Yukon, Oklahoma, his bonus son, Keith Wayne Kirby of Piedmont, Oklahoma, his bonus daughter, Mackenzie Franklin of Bridge Creek, Oklahoma, his brother, Jason David Davis of Norman, Oklahoma, and a host of beloved family and friends. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
Gil was preceded in death by his father, Oscar J. Davis, and his mother, Patricia Ann Davis.
