Patricia Hartog Obituary

Patricia A. Hartog, 85, of Rockford, passed away on Wednesday, October 23, 2024. Born March 31, 1939, in Red Oak, IL, the daughter of Glen and Margaret (Jacobs) Harnish. Graduate of Freeport High School, Class of 1957, Rockford Practical Nursing School and attended Northern Illinois University. Patricia married Stanely E. Hartog on July 19, 1958 in Freeport. She worked in home health care and loved working one on one with people and elderly. Patricia was a sewing instructor in home and at Rock Valley College. She enjoyed sewing, knitting and crocheting. Patricia participated in a square dance group Vee'ke Rock Dancers for many years. She also enjoyed playing the organ, piano and teaching piano. Her favorite color was red and she loved cardinals, angels, dogs and all animals. She liked to play BINGO and cards. Patricia dearly loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survived by her husband, Stanley; children, Trevor Hartog, Tricia (Dennis) Bouton, Melissa Bright and Michelle (Jeffrey) Flemming; grandchildren, Lee, Whitney, Autumn, Josaiah, Karis, Jacob, Madelyn, Nathan, Cassidy, Konner, Daphne, and Nicolaas; great-grandchildren, Adelynn and Daylon; sister, Norma Chappell; and nieces, nephews and many cousins. Predeceased by her parents; and brother, Ronald (Charlotte) Harnish.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 29, 2024 at Fred C. Olson Chapel, 1001 Second Ave., Rockford. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Monday, October 28, 2024 and from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the service at the chapel. Burial in Arlington Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the family for a memorial for Multiple Sclerosis. To share a memory or condolence, visit olsonfh.com.
